Established in London in 2011, Aspect relocated to New York in 2016 and has since established itself among the city’s distinguished chamber music institutions.

MusicOur “Music in Context” concept focuses on performance at the highest level and the ethos of chamber music. It also allows audiences to explore the music from new perspectives. We present internationally acclaimed musicians of exceptional artistry; our refined programming pairs masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire with lesser-known treasures.
TalkOur concerts combine music with short, illustrated talks by leading cultural historians, musicologists, art historians, and musicians, who offer a glimpse into the intimate world of each musical work and illuminate its context. Aspect transforms the traditional recital into a thought-provoking blend of performance, speech, and image.
wineArrive early and enjoy complimentary wine & apples before the performance and during intermission. Doors open at 7:00pm; concerts begin at 7:30pm. An elegant yet convivial atmosphere and the cultural curiosity of our audience transform an Aspect concert into an extraordinary experience.

From the FOUNDERThe impulse to create Aspect came from my encounters with musicians who were not only exceptional artists, but true intellectuals. My perception of music was transformed by their profound knowledge of every aspect of the works they performed.
The concept of ‘Music in Context’ seemed perfectly harmonious: we provide a forum for musicians to share their skills, vision, and knowledge, while audiences eager to nurture mind and soul experience music within a broader artistic context, enriched by the insights of those who know it intimately.
Our concept is continuously evolving: we inquire into the composer’s mindset when the music was created, delve into the history and spirit of the time, and explore the literary, philosophical, and cultural influences that shaped the music. We strive to provide an enlightening context for each musical work, enabling our audience to find an individual connection with it. Join us and become part of this unique and exhilarating experience!
